Description
The Mares MiniMini Sten is a short length pneumatic speargun. Its short length is perfect for shallow reef diving and catching crays and small reef fish.
Sten is a legendary name for a spear gun known and appreciated by all spearfishing enthusiasts for its precision, power, and reliability. The Sten is one of the finest pneumatic spearguns on the market, optimised for superior performance in a wide variety of spearfishing conditions.
Equipped with a rigid ergonomic grip and hydrodynamic muzzle, when used with 8mm diameter shafts, it will meet the needs of fishermen looking for great power and reliability.
This speargun has a sideline release and safety catch. When the fish is fighting your grip, the durable harmonic stainless steel 8 mm shaft won’t bend or break. Instead, the techno-polymer shock-absorber bushing and piston will absorb the fight of the biggest fish.
Speed and penetration are assured with the Sten’s high capacity air tank. The 1/2″ (13mm) internal barrel can use either a 7mm or 8mm shaft. The simple but sturdy design and construction make the MiniMini Sten highly reliable.
Special innovative technical solutions give these spearguns an accuracy that further exceeds all other products on the market.
The Sten comes with a double barbed tip, shock line with rubber shock bungee, spear shaft, shaft loader and recharging pump.

How to use the Mares MiniMini Sten:
To load this pneumatic speargun, you use a “loader”. It is a small black plastic handpiece and comes with your purchase.
This piece is held on the tip of the spear and is used to push the spear into the gun against the air pressure.
Generally, you will use your thigh as the supporter to help push the spear in or the top of your foot, depending on the length of the gun. This is just as difficult as loading a standard rubber railgun as you push against lots of pressure. The loader is something that you do not want to lose, as if you lose it, you will no longer be able to load your speargun. Here at Dive Warehouse, we recommend always having a spare, so tie some thin rope to your loader and have it connected to yourself or your gun to prevent from dropping or losing it.
There is a chamber inside the gun that you pump up using the hand pump provided to fill the chamber with air, and this takes approximately 100 pumps, giving more than enough power to penetrate through small to mid-size reef fish and crays.
A piston inside the barrel moves when the spear is loaded and is what pushes the spear out when shot. Having the piston prevent air from escaping when the gun is fired means that no air is released, giving you multiple shots without pumping up the gun every time.
How often you use the gun will depend on how long it will take for more air to be added.
