Caring for your mask:
Ocean Hunter Phantom GoPro masks are made from 100% silicone with tempered glass. When masks are made, a thin layer of silicone adheres to the inside of the glass and this is what causes it to fog. Anti-fog’s will not work until your mask is pre-cleaned. This is because the product needs to reach the glass and with the silicone layer it can’t get through.
You can use toothpaste to pre-clean your mask. The light abrasive in it scrubs off the silicone layer. Use a blob of paste on each lens on the inside only giving it a good scrub with a soft cloth and then rinse it off with fresh water. Repeat this process 3 times to ensure you have scrubbed off all of the silicone film.
Now you are ready to use anti-fog. The toothpaste will not scratch your glass because it is tempered. You can purchase quality anti-fog from us or you can spit or lick the inside of the lens.
After you have cleaned your mask properly and your lenses aren’t fogging up, you need to wash it after every use to prevent it from perishing. We suggest you clean your mask and snorkel by putting them into a tub of fresh warm water, giving them a good rinse. This will take remove all of the salt and sand.
Store them away in a dark dry place, never in direct sunlight.
